Memorial Day Picnic
With Memorial Day sneaking upon us, what do most of us think of?
You got it, PICNIC. Now I know everybody has their own tradition of what picnic food is, but my families tradition was Hamburg Barbeque or Sloppy Joes to most people, potato salad, deviled eggs, baked beans, the infamous marshmallow fluff and of course hot dogs. I can still remember all the food on the table that was made by my mom, grandmother, aunts and neighbors. I have made those same recipes for every Memorial Day since, minus the marshmallow fluff…lol.
Memorial Day Picnics aren’t like they used to be. You hardly know your neighbors, families have moved away and they start their own traditions. As kids you never think those things would ever change. But we have those memories to look back on.
When you go camping in our experience, it’s like going back to those days. Our fellow RV’ers and campers are genuinely nice, they invite you over to their sites, kids running around having fun on their bicycles and at night the roaring fires going with marshmallows being toasted. So with that being said, I would like to share a few of my family’s recipes to make your Memorial Day a delicious one.
